At SIYC, we look forward to receiving visitors from reciprocal yacht clubs and other organizations approved by the SIYC Commodore or Board of Governors.
Visitors should be prepared to present evidence of membership in:
- a yacht club registered with the Yachting Club of America or the Chesapeake Bay Yacht Clubs Association
- the America's Great Loop Cruisers Association (AGLCA) or
- the Marine Trawler Owners Association (MOTA), as well as appropriate identification.
All visitors (non-members) to the Solomons Island Yacht Club who enter our clubhouse are considered guests, and except for members of a reciprocal yacht club, must be invited by and accompanied by an SIYC member.
Our Guest Book:
Members are responsible for assuring that each guest signs the guest register located in the Captain's Lounge near the bar. Guests from other yacht clubs must sign the guest register and note their club affiliation.
The following are the only categories excepted from signing the guest register:
- Top Ten Waiting List applicants;
- Domestic partners of SIYC members;
- Waiting List applicants invited by the Rear Commodore to attend Waitlist events or other activities as approved by the SIYC Board of Governors;
- Non-members attending a Club rental function; and,
- Transient boaters docked at the SIYC pier from a reciprocal yacht club or an organization with agreed upon special privileges and who have signed a slip reservation sheet and paid slip fees.
Please note that the Solomons Island Yacht Club is a private membership organization with a Sec. 501(c)(7) federal tax exemption. As such, SIYC facilities are intended for the sole use of members and their guests.
