Solomons Island Yacht Club is honored to have an extensive burgee display in our Captain's Lounge, possibly the largest collection in the area.
Among the burgees is one from the Royal Cork Yacht Club, Crosshaven, County Cork, Ireland, the oldest Yacht Club in the world (est. 1720). We have 546(!!!) burgees from dozens of states and U.S. territories and 48 foreign countries! The burgees were provided by SIYC members returning from cruising locations around the world and by members from other clubs visiting SIYC.
